A Message From Our President
Welcome to the Impreza WRX Club Inc. website, the virtual home of our car club.
The Impreza WRX Club was incorporated in early 1998. Now 8 years young it is one of the biggest and most active car clubs in the country.
Membership to the club is open to owners of turbocharged, all wheel drive Subarus. This includes the WRX, STi, Turbo Libertys, the Forester GT and other turbo Subaru models.
If you are reading this chances are that you are a visitor considering joining the Club. So why should you join this Club? Some of the features that I believe set us apart from many other Clubs catering to Turbocharged Subaru's are:
- Affiliation with the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) which is the National Sporting Authority for Motorsport in Australia - this means members are covered under CAMS insurance for Public Liability, Third Party Property Damage and Personal Injury when participating in any Club event including Social events such as Cruises.
- An established Club Motorsport Championship that involves around a dozen events including Supersprints (timed tarmac circuit events), Motorkhanas & Khanacross Events (on tarmac or concrete skidpans & dirt courses). Supersprints are conducted with 3 other car clubs (HSV, Alfa & Southern Sporting) thus keeping the cost of entry down & increasing the number of events able to be run.
- Driver Training - the club holds a number of driver training days each year where members can learn to explore the capabilities of their car under the tuition of skilled instructors. Many of those same instructors attend or compete in the Motorsport Championship so their advice is available year round.
- Many & varied Social Events including Road Cruises, Dyno Days, Tech Workshops, Show-n-shines & even a hotly contested (unofficial) Go-kart Championship. Check out the Calendar in the "Events & Reports" section of this website.
- A broad spectrum of members of all ages with a wealth of knowledge covering every aspect of these cars (& a multitude of other subjects to boot!) If you want to cut through corporate advertising spin & find out what actually works without the bull the Impreza WRX Club is for you.
- Member communication is principally via an Internet-based email forum. This ensures the ability to share information and experiences and are keep in touch with the activities of the Club. This extensive use of the Internet enables members located throughout NSW (and other states and territories) to enjoy an identical degree of involvement.
- Supplementing this virtual clubhouse we hold regular meetings featuring product & technical demonstrations & guest speakers or just a chinwag & sausage sandwich!.
Above all else you will find the best reason to join & remain a member is the long lasting friendships made whilst enjoying these phenomenally fun & versatile vehicles.
